Fourth Impeachment Complaint Filed Against VP Sara Duterte

A fourth impeachment complaint was filed against Vice President Sara Duterte at the House of Representatives on Wednesday night, February 18, 2026. The complaint was lodged by lawyer Nathaniel Cabrera and endorsed by House Deputy Speaker Paolo Ortega and Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido “Bien” Abante.
The filing comes after the constitutional one‑year bar on impeachment complaints against the same official expired on February 6. Previous complaints filed against Duterte were dismissed by the Supreme Court for violating this rule, but the court did not pass judgment on the underlying allegations.
Earlier complaints accused Duterte of alleged misuse of funds, abuse of power, and betrayal of public trust. Duterte has previously denied similar allegations, describing them as politically motivated.
The fourth complaint now awaits acceptance and certification by the House leadership. If approved, it could be transmitted to the Senate, which would act as the impeachment court.
