Fuel Price Cut With A Purpose As Pangilinan Duo Chooses Community Over Profit

Father-and-son tandem Anthony Pangilinan and Donny Pangilinan are earning praise online after choosing to put community needs ahead of profit in their fuel business.

In a social media post, Anthony shared that it was Donny who first suggested lowering their diesel prices—an idea he admitted didn’t make much sense “numbers wise,” but was fully aligned with their mission to help others.

Taking that suggestion to heart, the Pangilinans rolled out a ₱3.00 per liter price cut on diesel at their fuel station in South Forbes, Silang, Cavite starting March 17. The initiative, they said, will continue for as long as they can sustain it.

For many motorists, especially delivery riders, public utility drivers, and small business owners, the move offers some relief amid fluctuating fuel prices. While the discount may seem modest, its impact can be felt in daily expenses.

Anthony explained that their decision came after assessing how rising fuel costs affect not just their operations, but the wider community around them. Instead of passing the burden entirely to consumers, they chose to absorb part of it.

The gesture has since gained attention online, with many praising the pair for leading by example and showing that businesses can play a role beyond profit-making.

As fuel prices continue to shift, the Pangilinans’ move stands out as a reminder that even in business, compassion can drive meaningful action.

“Let’s all do what we can, while we can, for as long as we are able,” Anthony shared—an appeal that’s now resonating with many.
