The House Committee on Justice has formally directed Vice President Sara Duterte to respond to the impeachment complaints filed against her after the panel found the cases sufficient in form and substance.

In a Notice to Respondent dated March 4, 2026, the committee ordered Duterte to submit a verified answer within a non-extendible period of 10 calendar days from receiving the notice. She is also required to provide copies of her response to the complainants within the same period, as mandated under the rules of the House of Representatives.

The notice was addressed to the Office of the Vice President at Cybergate Plaza in Mandaluyong City and was signed by committee chair Gerville Luistro, the representative of Batangas’ 2nd District.

The impeachment complaints accuse Duterte of several alleged impeachable offenses, including betrayal of public trust and violation of the Constitution. The allegations stem from the supposed misuse of ₱612.5 million in confidential funds and an alleged threat against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his family.

Meanwhile, Duterte’s legal counsel Michael Poa confirmed that they have received the notice.

"We acknowledge receipt of the notice served today. At this point, we see no need to issue any further comment," Poa said.
