A House resolution has been filed commending Speaker Faustino G. Dy III for what lawmakers described as his steady, collaborative, and results-driven leadership during the First Regular Session of the 20th Congress.
House Resolution No. 1093, introduced by Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander Marcos and Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Marcello Libanan, praised Dy for guiding the House of Representatives through what they called a productive and highly efficient legislative period.
The resolution highlighted Dy’s leadership style, saying he maintained the chamber’s momentum through cooperation, professionalism, and institutional stability. Lawmakers credited him for helping ensure the smooth operation of the House while advancing key legislative priorities.
The measure also cited a survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. from May 20 to 25, 2026, which reportedly showed strong public confidence in the House under Dy’s leadership. The survey indicated gains in trust and performance ratings, while Dy’s personal ratings also improved compared to previous assessments.
According to the resolution, the House processed a significant volume of legislative work during the session, including thousands of bills and resolutions. Several major measures were approved, while others remained under consideration by the bicameral conference committee.
Among the notable proposals cited were measures on anti-political dynasty reforms, digital media accountability, expanded nutrition programs for children, and amendments to existing laws aimed at strengthening governance and public services.
The resolution further noted that the House enacted new laws and advanced several priority measures under the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC), while also pursuing reforms focused on transparency, accountability, and institutional strengthening.
Lawmakers likewise recognized the chamber’s participation in regional and international parliamentary engagements, saying these efforts helped strengthen legislative diplomacy and promote the Philippines’ interests abroad.
In filing the resolution, Marcos and Libanan said Dy’s leadership helped position the House as a responsive, efficient, and cohesive institution capable of addressing complex national issues while delivering key legislative accomplishments.
The resolution formally seeks to commend the Speaker for his stewardship of the House during the First Regular Session, describing his tenure as instrumental in maintaining productivity and advancing the legislative agenda of the 20th Congress.
