Senator Jinggoy Estrada and three Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials have been transferred to the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory after completing all required legal and medical procedures, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

In its latest report, the BJMP said Assistant District Engineer Denryl Caesar Cortuna was admitted to the facility at 5:47 p.m. on June 1. Meanwhile, Estrada, District Engineer Manny Bumagat Bulusan, and District Engineer Arturo Lombres Gonzales Jr. were admitted at 8:15 p.m. after undergoing mandatory medical examinations.

Following medical clearance, all four were placed in the jail's general population in accordance with standard custodial procedures.

The group is among those implicated in the controversial flood control case that has drawn public attention in recent months.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) emphasized that all detainees under BJMP custody are subject to the same detention rules and protocols, regardless of their position, rank, or social status.

The agency stressed that court orders are being carried out properly, due process is being observed, and the law is being applied equally to everyone involved in the case.
