President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered a reduction in excise taxes on fuel products, cutting costs for households as global energy pressures continue to affect local prices.
In a press briefing held at Malacañang Palace on Monday, April 13, 2026, the President announced that he is invoking emergency powers to lower the excise tax on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by PHP 3.36 per liter and kerosene by PHP 5.60 per liter.
The move is aimed at easing the financial burden on consumers, particularly those who rely heavily on LPG for cooking and kerosene for lighting and other household needs.
The President made the announcement during the briefing, highlighting the government’s response to rising energy-related costs.
Authorities are expected to roll out the adjusted pricing following the implementation of the tax reduction order.
