President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to visit Naga City on Saturday, February 21, 2026, to personally review flood control operations under the national government’s Oplan Kontra Baha program.

During the visit, Marcos will meet with Mayor Leni Robredo, the city’s former vice president, to inspect ongoing efforts to clear canals, esteros, and the Sagop Creek drainage system. The initiative is part of broader national and local efforts to reduce flooding risks in the Bicol region.

Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro confirmed the visit and noted that Marcos will focus on evaluating cleanup and water-flow improvement operations. She also clarified that discussions about political matters beyond flood control will unfold during the visit if necessary, but the current emphasis is on public safety and governance.

The planned cooperation between Marcos and Robredo draws attention because the two were previously political rivals, highlighting a joint focus on addressing local concerns despite past electoral competition.
