Marcos Suspends LPG, Kerosene Tax For 3 Months

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed Executive Order No. 114, suspending the excise tax on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and kerosene for three months.

The move follows a recommendation from the Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC), as the government seeks to ease the burden of rising fuel costs on households and businesses.

Under the order, the suspension is expected to bring down the prices of LPG and kerosene—both widely used for cooking and lighting, especially in many Filipino homes.

Officials said the measure is part of the administration’s broader effort to cushion the impact of fluctuating global oil prices and provide immediate relief to consumers.

The temporary tax break will be in effect for three months, after which authorities are expected to reassess market conditions before deciding on the next steps.
