The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has officially partnered with THINKaMuna Pilipinas, the media and information literacy (MIL) campaign of MediaQuest Holdings, Inc., in a move aimed at helping Filipinos become more critical and responsible consumers of information in the digital age.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on July 6, 2026, bringing together two organizations under the Manuel V. Pangilinan Group to promote media literacy, critical thinking, and responsible online engagement.

With millions of customers across the country, Meralco said it sees the fight against misinformation as a shared responsibility. The company believes that encouraging people to verify information before sharing it can help build a more informed and resilient society.

“As a company that serves millions of Filipinos every day, we recognize the responsibility that comes with our reach and our platform. We want to contribute to creating an environment where credible sources are trusted and meaningful dialogue prevails over misinformation. When every Filipino chooses to think first, verify first, and share responsibly, we all contribute to a stronger, more resilient nation,” Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho said.

Under the partnership, Meralco and MediaQuest Holdings will roll out initiatives designed to strengthen media and information literacy among employees, customers, and communities. The program will also encourage people to adopt a "THINKaMuna" mindset by making fact-checking, critical thinking, and responsible sharing part of their everyday habits, both online and offline.
