The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) is investigating reports of hazing and maltreatment involving police recruits at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14B in Lamitan City.

According to NAPOLCOM Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Rafael Calinisan, a motu proprio investigation has been launched following reports of alleged hazing and abuse at the battalion headquarters. “Hazing is illegal. The NAPOLCOM will not tolerate any form of hazing in the PNP organization. Rest assured that we will expedite the investigation and resolution of this case,” Calinisan said.

The BARMM Regional Office of NAPOLCOM confirmed it is closely monitoring viral videos allegedly showing MILF-PNP integratees and regular recruits being mistreated. The commission has begun verifying the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a statement, NAPOLCOM BARMM urged the public to allow due process to take its course and to refrain from spreading unverified information that could prejudice the investigation. “Appropriate actions will be taken based on the results of the investigation, and accountability will be pursued should any violations be established. Further updates will be released through official channels,” the statement said.

In response to the allegations, the Philippine National Police (PNP) relieved over 70 personnel of RMFB‑14B, including the battalion commander, and replaced them with officers from RMFB‑14A. Authorities said the relieved personnel will undergo investigation, which may include administrative and criminal charges under the Anti-Hazing Act.

The incident has sparked concern online, with calls for transparency and swift action. NAPOLCOM emphasized that hazing has no place in the Philippine National Police and assured the public that the case will be handled promptly.
