Panelo Supports Possible Transfer Of Madriaga To House Custody, Questions Credibility

Legal counsel Atty. Salvador Paolo Panelo Jr. expressed support for the potential transfer of whistleblower Ramil Lagunoy Madriaga from Camp Bagong Diwa to the custody of the House of Representatives, framing it as a means to ensure Madriaga is able to testify.
“To reiterate, we want Madriaga alive and well precisely so he can testify and reveal himself to the world as a fraud. If transferring his custody to the House of Representatives ensures that, then we welcome the move,” Panelo said in a statement.
Panelo criticized the House Committee on Justice, calling it “composed mostly of the Vice President’s enemies,” and argued that “no amount of the expected biased questioning … can overcome Madriaga’s fabrications or salvage his inexistent credibility.”
He described Madriaga as a “material witness” only to the extent that his testimony could reveal the political motives behind the impeachment proceedings.
