The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is investigating a large piece of unidentified debris bearing foreign markings that was discovered along the shoreline of Sitio Talim in Barangay Luyahan, Lian, Batangas.
The discovery was reported by a concerned citizen on June 15, prompting personnel from Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Lian to immediately conduct an inspection and assessment of the object.
According to the PCG, the metallic debris measures approximately 20 feet long and 10.5 feet wide. Initial observations showed that the object appears to be made of aluminum and contains visible foreign characters printed on its surface.
Using available translation tools, authorities conducted a preliminary assessment of the markings, which reportedly may refer to “Antenna Transmission Window 5.” However, officials emphasized that the exact origin, purpose, and significance of the debris remain unknown.
The recovered object is now under the custody of the Philippine Coast Guard for documentation, monitoring, and further examination.
Authorities are also coordinating with relevant agencies to determine where the debris came from and whether it is connected to any vessel, aircraft, or other structure.
The PCG said it will continue its investigation and monitoring efforts while awaiting additional information that could help establish the source and significance of the mysterious debris.
