PCG Recovers Three More Bodies In MV Trisha Kerstin 3 Tragedy

The death toll from the MV Trisha Kerstin 3 maritime incident has risen to 57 after the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recovered three more cadavers during underwater operations on February 15, 2026, near Baluk-Baluk Island, Basilan.
So far, 293 survivors have been accounted for, while 22 passengers remain missing as authorities continue search and rescue efforts.
The PCG stressed that these numbers are the result of coordinated validation efforts involving multiple agencies, including the Philippine National Police-Scene of the Crime Operatives (PNP-SOCO), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), and the families of the affected passengers, who maintain daily coordination with the interagency search teams.
Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities work tirelessly to locate the remaining missing individuals and provide closure for the families affected by the tragedy.
