In a moment that demanded leadership and composure, the veteran setter rose to the occasion, orchestrating Cignal’s long-awaited return to the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference 2026. And she did it in the most convincing way possible—by delivering on a promise she made during training.
Cayuna had set a personal target with 34 excellent sets and 11 points. Against the formidable Creamline Cool Smashers, she didn’t just meet that goal—she exceeded it. Facing off against top setter Jia Morado-De Guzman, Cayuna showcased control, precision, and poise in a gripping five-set duel.
The Super Spikers pulled off a gutsy 25-21, 24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 17-15 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with Cayuna tallying an outstanding 34 excellent sets and 11 points—numbers that proved crucial in breaking through Creamline’s defense and sealing the victory.
Her performance didn’t go unnoticed. Cayuna edged out several top contenders across the league to earn the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week honors for March 24 to 28, further cementing her impact in Cignal’s campaign.
But beyond the stats, it was the team’s mindset that made the difference. Head coach Shaq Delos Santos shared that the players committed to a clear intention heading into the match—knowing exactly what they needed to execute to come out on top.
The win also carried extra weight. It served as redemption after their earlier five-set loss to the same Creamline squad in the preliminary round. This time, Cignal showed growth, maturity, and a stronger sense of purpose—proof of how far the team has come.
Now back in the semifinals after missing out in the last two conferences, the battle-tested Super Spikers are not slowing down. With a couple of weeks to regroup and prepare, all eyes are on their next challenge in the Final Four starting April 11 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
