The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Medicine has ordered the six-month suspension of the medical license of Dr. Lorraine Marie T. Badoy after finding her guilty of violating the Revised Code of Ethics of the Medical Profession.

The decision stems from an administrative complaint filed by health leaders, including the Filipino Nurses United (FNU), over Badoy's alleged red-tagging and public attacks against health workers, union leaders, and activists.

In its ruling dated May 8, 2026, the Board of Medicine said Dr. Badoy's actions amounted to "unethical and unprofessional conduct." While noting that it was her first recorded offense before the Commission, the Board imposed the lesser penalty of a six-month suspension instead of revoking her authority to practice medicine.

The ruling also states that during the suspension period, Badoy is prohibited from practicing medicine. Before she can resume her profession, she must file an affidavit certifying that she fully complied with the suspension and did not engage in medical practice throughout its duration.

Reacting to the decision, Filipino Nurses United (FNU) Secretary-General Jocelyn Santos Andamo welcomed the ruling, calling it a victory not only for nurses and doctors but also for other health workers and the public.

"Yehey, panalo ang nurses, doctors and other health workers at bayan laban kay Dr. Lorraine Badoy!" Andamo said in a statement.

She said the administrative case was filed before the PRC in response to what the group described as Badoy's "red-tagging" and vilification of health leaders, health unionists, activists, and human rights defenders during her time as spokesperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

According to Andamo, the Board's decision reinforces the importance of professional ethics and accountability among members of the medical profession.

She also vowed to continue their campaign against what they described as the vilification of unionists, health activists, and human rights defenders, ending her statement with the call: "Ipagtagumpay ang laban ng mamamayan! No to NTF-ELCAC!"

The PRC Board of Medicine's decision was signed in Manila on May 8, 2026 by Chairperson Efren C. Laxamana and the Board members.
