PSEi Climbs Above 6,180 To End Week On A High

The Philippine stock market closed higher on Friday, extending its winning streak as investors continued to show confidence in local equities.
The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) finished at 6,188.03, gaining 62.31 points, or 1.02 percent, from the previous trading session.
Trading activity reached ₱4.4 billion, with market breadth remaining positive throughout the day. A total of 108 stocks advanced, while 64 declined and 67 closed unchanged, indicating that buying interest was spread across a wide range of listed companies.
Foreign investors also ended the session as net buyers, adding support to the local market. Foreign buying amounted to ₱2.223 billion, while foreign selling reached ₱2.084 billion, resulting in net foreign buying of ₱139.32 million.
Friday's performance capped another positive session for the local bourse as investors continued to position themselves ahead of upcoming economic developments and corporate announcements, allowing the PSEi to remain above the 6,180 level heading into the new trading week.
