PSEi Climbs Back Above 6,000 On Strong Buying

The Philippine Stock Exchange Index climbed higher on Wednesday, May 7, closing above the 6,000 level as investor sentiment improved amid strong market activity and continued foreign buying.

The benchmark PSEi ended the trading day at 6,034.27, up 67.06 points or 1.12 percent from the previous session.

Market participation remained active, with total trading value reaching PHP 7.9 billion. Advancers outpaced decliners, with 125 stocks gaining, 83 declining, and 53 remaining unchanged.

Foreign investors also remained net buyers for the session. Foreign buying reached Php 4.59 billion, while foreign selling stood at Php 4.37 billion, resulting in net foreign buying of Php 213.38 million.

The latest rally pushed the local bourse back above the key 6,000-mark, signaling renewed optimism among investors as market momentum continued to improve.
