The local stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the Philippine Stock Exchange Index continuing its upward momentum.

As of 1:44 p.m. on February 26, 2026, the PSEi rose 42.25 points, or 0.64 percent, to 6,662.12. Broader market participation was also positive, with the All Shares Index gaining 0.73 percent to 3,667.09.

Sectoral indices mostly ended in the green. Property stocks led the charge, jumping 2.09 percent, followed by Mining and Oil, which surged 1.96 percent amid renewed investor interest. Holding Firms, Industrial, and Financials also posted modest gains ranging from 0.55 percent to 0.74 percent.

The only laggard was Services, which slipped 0.19 percent.

Market watchers said the across-the-board gains suggest improving investor confidence, with buying activity spread across key sectors rather than concentrated in just a few heavyweights.
