PSEi Drops 73 Points As Foreign Investors Turn Net Sellers

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) slipped deeper into the red on Friday, closing at 5,960.97 after losing 73.3 points or 1.21 percent as investor sentiment remained cautious.

Market activity reached PHP 8.5 billion in total value traded, with decliners slightly outnumbering advancers during the session.

Based on market data from the Philippine Stock Exchange, there were 97 declining stocks, 93 advancers, and 63 unchanged issues by the closing bell.

Foreign investors continued to be net sellers in the local market, with foreign buying recorded at Php 3.33 billion while foreign selling reached Php 3.99 billion. This resulted in a net foreign selling position of Php 663.89 million.

The latest decline pulled the benchmark index back below the 6,000 level, reflecting continued caution among investors amid market uncertainties and profit-taking activity.
