MANILA — The local stock market ended nearly unchanged on Wednesday, as selling pressure from foreign investors weighed on gains.
The benchmark PSEi closed at 6,063.69, inching up by just 0.34 points or 0.006 percent.
Trading activity remained moderate, with total value turnover reaching ₱7.8 billion. Market breadth, however, leaned negative, as decliners (100) outpaced advancers (91), while 64 issues were unchanged.
Despite the marginal uptick in the index, foreign investors were net sellers for the session. Foreign buying totaled ₱4.52 billion, while foreign selling reached ₱5.53 billion, resulting in a net outflow of ₱1.01 billion.
The muted movement reflects cautious sentiment among investors, with foreign fund outflows continuing to temper gains in the local bourse.
