The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended Tuesday's trading session in positive territory, extending its gains as foreign investors continued to pour money into the local market.

The benchmark index closed at 6,247.11, up 23.12 points, or 0.37 percent, reflecting cautious optimism among investors despite mixed market breadth.

Trading activity reached ₱5.6 billion, with 82 stocks advancing, 97 declining, and 61 remaining unchanged, indicating that while the main index posted gains, selling pressure persisted across several counters.

Foreign investors remained net buyers for the day, purchasing ₱3.04 billion worth of local shares while selling ₱2.27 billion, resulting in net foreign buying of ₱770.42 million.

The continued foreign inflows provided support to the local market, helping lift the PSEi even as decliners slightly outnumbered gainers. Investors are expected to remain focused on upcoming economic developments and corporate earnings, which could influence market direction in the coming trading sessions.
