The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended lower on Friday, June 19, as investors continued to navigate market uncertainties, with foreign investors posting a net selling position for the day.

At the close of trading, the benchmark PSEi slipped by 18.31 points, or 0.30 percent, to finish at 6,135.35. The broader All Shares Index also declined by 0.37 percent to 3,380.77.

Among the sectoral indices, the Financials sector emerged as the lone bright spot, climbing 0.75 percent. However, losses in most sectors weighed on the market, particularly Mining and Oil, which suffered the steepest decline at 3.76 percent. Services, Holding Firms, Property, and Industrials also ended in negative territory.

Trading activity remained relatively active, with total market turnover reaching ₱11.1 billion. Market breadth favored decliners, as 111 stocks fell compared to 81 gainers, while 48 issues closed unchanged.

Foreign investors continued to exert selling pressure on the market. Foreign buying totaled ₱7.67 billion, while foreign selling reached ₱8.12 billion, resulting in net foreign selling of nearly ₱452 million.

Analysts said the market's cautious performance reflects investors' continued monitoring of both local and global developments, with profit-taking and foreign fund outflows contributing to the day's decline.
