The Philippine stock market ended Friday on a weaker note, with the PSEi slipping back below the 6,000 level as selling pressure dominated trading.
The benchmark index closed at 5,999.13, down 64.56 points or 1.06%, reflecting a broad pullback across the market.
Market activity remained cautious throughout the session, with total value turnover reaching PHP 7.3 billion. Breadth also leaned negative, as 100 stocks declined, outpacing 86 advancers, while 67 issues finished unchanged.
Foreign investors were once again on the selling side, further weighing on sentiment. Foreign buying reached PHP 3.96 billion, but was overshadowed by foreign selling of PHP 5.66 billion, resulting in a net foreign outflow of PHP 1.70 billion.
The overall tone of trading suggests continued hesitation among investors, with external flows remaining a key driver of market direction.
