PSEi Surges Over 6,400 As Investors Return To Market

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended higher on Friday, July 17, 2026, as renewed buying activity pushed the benchmark index above the 6,400 level.
The PSEi climbed by 78.96 points, or 1.25 percent, to close at 6,404.11, supported by stronger investor sentiment during the trading session.
Market activity reached a total value of ₱6.1 billion, with more advancing stocks than declining issues. A total of 103 shares gained, while 85 declined and 52 remained unchanged.
Foreign investors also contributed to the market’s positive performance, recording ₱3.19 billion in buying activity against ₱2.34 billion in selling, resulting in a net foreign buying position of ₱857.49 million.
The latest gain reflected improved market participation as investors continued to position themselves amid developments affecting local equities.
