State-run broadcaster People's Television Network (PTV) is set to strengthen its reach and public service efforts after receiving support from the country's three biggest media networks—ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and MediaQuest's TV5.
PTV General Manager Lino Cayetano announced that the major media organizations have expressed their willingness to collaborate with the government television network, a move he described as a significant step toward improving the station's service to Filipinos.
According to Cayetano, the PTV Board of Directors has officially authorized him to enter into partnerships with the three networks. The resolution was approved under the leadership of Board Chairperson Victoria C. Recio, Vice Chairperson Prof. Antonio Contreras, and Board Member Atty. Joji Alonso.
Cayetano said these partnerships are aimed at helping PTV fulfill its mandate more effectively by bringing more stakeholders to the table and creating opportunities for collaboration within the media industry.
He emphasized that while PTV already has a dedicated and hardworking workforce, working alongside established media organizations could further enhance the network's ability to remain relevant, engaged, and responsive to the needs of the public.
The PTV chief also expressed his gratitude to ABS-CBN, GMA, and TV5, noting that the three networks continue to enjoy the trust and respect of many Filipinos. He said their willingness to support PTV reflects a shared commitment to delivering quality information and public service to audiences nationwide.
The planned partnerships are expected to open new opportunities for cooperation among media organizations as PTV works to expand its reach and strengthen its role as the government's television network.
