Pulong Duterte Defends VP Sara, Calls Out Rep. Renee Co

Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte, more popularly known as Pulong Duterte, has publicly defended Vice President Sara Duterte following remarks made by Kabataan Party-list Rep. Renee Co regarding the ongoing impeachment proceedings.
In a Facebook post, Pulong criticized Co after she reportedly said that the public is more interested in the evidence presented in the impeachment case than in the Vice President’s statements.
“With all due respect, she should stop pretending she speaks for the Filipino people. Hindi siya ang survey firm, at lalong hindi siya ang boses ng buong sambayanan,” Pulong wrote.
He also questioned Co’s qualifications to comment on executive leadership and urged her to allow the constitutional process to proceed without prejudging the outcome.
“Instead of dismissing the Vice President’s statements, she should respect the Senate impeachment process and allow the evidence to be presented, examined, and weighed by the proper constitutional forum—not prejudged through press conferences.”
Pulong further argued that no public official should claim to represent the views of all Filipinos, particularly while the impeachment trial is still pending.
“Public office demands humility. No one, especially a first-term legislator, should assume they alone define what the Filipino people care about.”
He concluded that portion of his statement by saying, “Let the evidence speak. Let the process run its course. And let the people decide.”
The Facebook post also contained additional remarks directed at Co, including criticism of the sector she represents and personal comments that drew attention from supporters and critics online.
As of posting, Co has not publicly responded to Pulong Duterte’s latest statement. The exchange comes as public debate over Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment case continues to intensify on social media and in political circles.
