A new political alliance is making waves—and at the helm is Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, who is stepping into a bigger national role.

Fresh from being named president of PDP-Laban, Mayor Duterte led the grand launch of the Reform Alliance for Good Governance and Accountability (RAGE) Coalition on April 12, 2026, at Club Filipino in San Juan City.

The newly formed alliance is no small group. It brings together major political parties like Partido Reporma and Reform PH, alongside more than 600 organizations nationwide. These groups represent a wide range of sectors—from grassroots communities to regional movements—signaling a broad and unified push for change.

As the coalition’s central convenor, Duterte is expected to lead efforts in consolidating this multi-sector alliance, with a focus on tackling key political and economic issues facing the country.

The launch drew several prominent political figures, including Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Atty. Jimmy Bondoc, Former Rep. Mike Defensor, Rep. Leandro Leviste, Rep. Paolo Marcoleta and Former Speaker of the House Pantaleon Alvarez.

Also present were senators Robin Padilla and Bong Go, further highlighting the political weight behind the coalition.

With big names and even bigger ambitions, the RAGE Coalition is positioning itself as a major player in shaping the country’s political landscape in the months ahead.
