MANILA, Philippines — A coalition of religious leaders and civil society organizations has launched the **White Ribbon Movement**, a citizen-led campaign advocating for good governance, accountability, and political reform, with a nationwide march set for June 28 at the EDSA People Power Monument.

The movement was formally introduced during a press conference on Friday, June 19, at Club Filipino in Greenhills by the Interreligious Leaders Council for National Transformation (ILCNT), an alliance composed of leaders from various faith-based organizations.

Kidapawan Bishop Colin Bagaforo, one of the council's convenors, called on the public to participate in the White Ribbon March, describing it as a peaceful and non-partisan gathering that seeks to remind government leaders of the need for ethical leadership and meaningful reforms.

According to the organizers, the movement is anchored on three major advocacies: combating corruption, ending political dynasties, and pursuing electoral reforms. They said these issues remain among the country's biggest obstacles to transparent governance and sustainable national development.

The White Ribbon Movement also promotes the principles of truth, accountability, integrity, good governance, and national transformation. Organizers said the campaign aims to unite Filipinos from different religious backgrounds and sectors in encouraging greater citizen participation in democratic processes while pushing for reforms through peaceful and lawful means.

The June 28 march is expected to bring together representatives from Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical, and other religious communities, along with members of civil society groups supporting the movement's call for cleaner governance and institutional reforms.

Organizers said the White Ribbon March is intended to serve as a visible expression of public support for accountability in government and a renewed commitment to strengthening democratic institutions through active civic participation.
