Revilla Arraignment Pushed Back Again As Court Reviews Defense Motion
Screengrab from DILG
The Sandiganbayan Third Division once again postponed the scheduled arraignment of former senator Bong Revilla on Monday, February 9, in connection with a case involving malversation of public funds through falsification of documents.
The delay came after Revilla’s camp filed a motion for inhibition, asking members of the court to step aside from the case. In response, the anti-graft court gave the prosecution until today to submit its comment on the motion.
Because of this, the arraignment did not push through as planned.
The court has now reset the arraignment of Revilla to February 16. Also set for the same date is the arraignment of his co-accused, Juanito Mendoza, who has filed a separate motion to quash the charges against him.
