Veteran middle blocker Risa Sato is officially back in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) after being introduced as the newest member of the Akari Chargers.

The team announced Sato's arrival on social media, welcoming the seasoned campaigner and expressing confidence that her championship experience and leadership will provide a major boost to the Chargers in the upcoming season.

Sato last saw action with Chery Tiggo before the team's disbandment, making her return to the league one of the offseason's notable player moves.

Before joining Chery Tiggo, Sato built an impressive legacy with Creamline, where she became one of the franchise's most decorated players. During her stint with the Cool Smashers, she played in 13 conferences and helped the team capture 10 championship titles, establishing herself as one of the league's most successful middle blockers.

Off the court, Sato also reached a major milestone in her personal life. In November last year, she announced her marriage to basketball player Enzo Joson and revealed that the couple had welcomed their child.

Now back on the hardwood, Sato is set to begin a new chapter with Akari as the Chargers look to strengthen their roster and contend for a PVL title.
