Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo has made it clear—she is not running for president in 2028.
In an exclusive interview on Doble Pasada of RMN DWNX Naga with broadcasters Ed Ventura and Grace Inocentes, Robredo firmly shut down any speculation about a national comeback.
She said she is “100% sure” that she will not seek the presidency in the next election cycle, choosing instead to stay local and continue her work in Naga.
Rather than aiming for the country’s top post, Robredo shared that she plans to run again as mayor of Naga City, a role she has focused on since returning to local governance.
Her statement comes amid ongoing public speculation about her political future following her tenure as vice president and her strong national following. But for now, Robredo appears determined to remain grounded in community-level leadership.
No full transcript of the interview has been publicly released yet. However, based on available excerpts, her key message was direct and decisive—she has no plans to pursue the presidency in 2028 and is committed to continuing her work in Naga.
