Thirdy Ravena is officially heading back to Japan after signing with the Toyama Grouses for the 2026-27 B.League season, marking his return to one of Asia's top professional basketball leagues after a two-year absence.

The Toyama Grouses announced the signing as they prepare for the upcoming season, with the club looking to strengthen its roster following its return to Japan's top division. Ravena is expected to bring veteran leadership and international experience as the team aims to make an impact in the revamped B.League.

"I'm excited to come back to Japan and play my best for the Grouses this season," Ravena said after the signing was announced.

The 29-year-old guard made history in 2020 as the first Filipino player to compete in Japan's B.League under the league's Asian Player Quota when he joined the San-en NeoPhoenix. During his four seasons with the club, Ravena established himself as one of the league's top Asian imports and earned the 2023-24 Most Impressive Asia Player of the Year award.

In 2024, Ravena left Japan to join Dubai Basketball Club, where he competed in the ABA League and gained experience in European basketball. His return to the B.League gives him another opportunity to play a significant role while helping Toyama compete in its first season back in the top flight.

Ravena's signing also strengthens the growing Filipino presence in Japanese basketball. As one of the country's most accomplished international players and a longtime member of Gilas Pilipinas, he continues to inspire Filipino basketball fans while showcasing his talent on one of Asia's biggest stages.
