The camp of former senator Cynthia Villar has denied accusations circulating online over a confrontation with workers in BF Resort Village (BFRV), saying the incident stemmed from actions ordered by what they describe as an illegal homeowners’ association.

In a statement titled “Setting the Record Straight,” Villar’s office said the altercation began after a “No U-Turn” sign and several bollards were installed directly in front of her residence “without prior notice or consultation.” The camp claimed the installation was allegedly ordered by officers of a homeowners’ association that had previously been ruled illegitimate in a leadership dispute.

Villar Camp: Former Senator Was Asking for Clarification

According to the statement, Villar approached the workers to ask for clarification about the sudden changes.

The camp alleged that the situation escalated when “some individuals trespassed on Villar’s property, provoked and escalated the situation, took videos, and circulated these edited and malicious videos on various platforms.”
These allegations have not been independently confirmed by authorities.

Videos of the incident went viral over the weekend, drawing mixed reactions from residents and social media users.

Court Rulings Cited in HOA Dispute

Villar’s office pointed to decisions from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Human Settlements Adjudication Commission (HSAC) under Case No. HOA-A-241028-0605 (NCR-HOA-240614-0470), which declared a specific HOA faction illegitimate.

They also said the ruling was affirmed by the Court of Appeals under CA-G.R. SP No. 190310, which upheld the HSAC decision.
These rulings pertain to leadership disputes within BFRV and do not dissolve all HOA bodies in the village.

Traffic and Safety Concerns Raised

The Villar camp argued that the installation of the “No U-Turn” setup worsened traffic in an area already prone to congestion. They also claimed it created safety concerns and led to property damage — assertions that remain unverified by city authorities.

The statement urged transparency and proper consultation for changes affecting “access, traffic flow, safety, and daily mobility.”

Residents Remain Split

Residents online remain divided. Some say the issue reflects deeper HOA leadership disputes, while others argue that regardless of edits, the circulating videos warrant an objective review of the conduct of all those involved.

As of this writing, DHSUD and Las Piñas City officials have not issued new statements regarding the incident, though residents expect further clarification as tensions continue.
