Villar Firms Deny Causing Delays In LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project
LRMC File
Fine Properties Inc. and Villar Land Holdings, Inc. have denied allegations that they are responsible for delays in the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project, insisting that claims linking them to the holdup do not reflect the actual situation.

In a statement, the companies said they have been supportive of the infrastructure project and stressed that they were the ones who proposed donating the affected properties to help speed up its implementation.

According to the firms, the property donation was intended to prevent the need for expropriation, a process they said could have resulted in additional costs and further delays.

The companies also disclosed that their representatives have been in continuous coordination with the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA). They said the process is now awaiting the agency's completion of due diligence and the submission of the necessary documents for review.

Fine Properties and Villar Land Holdings maintained that they have no reason to delay a project that is expected to provide significant benefits to the commuting public, adding that they remain committed to supporting its timely completion.

The companies also urged the public to verify the facts before making conclusions or assigning blame regarding the project's delays.
