Rising Filipino content creator Louise Anne Nagal, popularly known online as “LANS,” has spoken out against the growing trend of comparing women and using her name to criticize or belittle others on social media.

In a statement that quickly gained attention online, LANS stressed that she does not support the idea of elevating one woman by putting another down. She revealed that she, too, has experienced disrespect and hurtful comments despite being praised by some netizens as an example of a “respectable” woman.

The veterinary medicine student, known for her educational and entertaining “fun fact” videos, said she does not consider an increase in followers an achievement if it comes at the expense of other women being mocked, compared, or attacked online.

LANS emphasized that respect should not depend on a woman's appearance, personality, profession, or the content she creates. According to her, women do not need to fit a specific image—whether conservative, quiet, educational, or traditional—to deserve dignity and respect.

She also pushed back against the notion that a woman's clothing or online presence justifies negative treatment, arguing that the responsibility lies with people to change their mindset rather than expecting women to change who they are.

The content creator's remarks have resonated with many social media users, sparking conversations about online behavior, gender stereotypes, and the importance of supporting women instead of pitting them against one another.

LANS has recently gained widespread popularity for her informative yet relatable content, earning praise from viewers for making educational topics engaging and accessible to a younger audience.
