Vice President Sara Z. Duterte expressed her gratitude and relief following the Supreme Court’s final decision on her impeachment case, while also criticizing the House of Representatives for what she described as an abuse of power.

“First, I thank God. Second, I thank the lawyers who worked together to address the abuse of the impeachment process by the House of Representatives. Third, I thank all our fellow Filipinos who continue to believe in and trust us,” she said.

Reflecting on the long-running case, Duterte added, “I mentioned the case once, but I didn’t focus on it because I wanted us to move on. I prefer to focus on things that matter more in our lives rather than dwelling on impeachment issues.”

The Supreme Court has now delivered its final ruling, rejecting the House of Representatives’ motion for reconsideration. The High Court upheld its earlier decision that the impeachment articles were unconstitutional and that the Senate never had jurisdiction to hear the case, effectively closing this legal chapter against the Vice President.
