ZUS Coffee continued its impressive start in the PVL On Tour after cruising past an undermanned Choco Mucho squad, 25-14, 25-20, 25-23, on Saturday at the Batangas City Sports Center.

Fresh off a four-set win over Akari, the Thunderbelles looked even more in sync in their second outing, improving to 2-0 and taking the early solo lead in the six-week preseason tournament.

Despite not having a single player score in double digits, ZUS Coffee showcased its depth with nine players contributing at least five points. Chinnie Arroyo led the balanced offense with nine points, while Jovelyn Gonzaga and rookie Alyanna Ong added eight each.

Head coach Jerry Yee said the team is using the preseason to build chemistry and give its new players valuable game experience.

“Hindi naman ata kumpleto ‘yung mga teams, pero kami we’re trying to practice our rotations so marami kaming bago, marami kaming bagong additions so we’d like to practice and give them some playing time,” Yee said.

The Thunderbelles dominated at the net, finishing with a 17-4 advantage in blocks, while also capitalizing on Choco Mucho's errors to stay in control throughout the match.

The Flying Titans, who were missing key players Eya Laure, Sisi Rondina, and Kat Tolentino, got 12 points from Caitlyn Viray and 10 from Des Cheng, but struggled to keep up with ZUS Coffee's balanced attack.

Choco Mucho threatened to extend the match after erasing a five-point deficit late in the third set, but Jolina dela Cruz delivered a crucial attack before AC Miner sealed the victory with a match-clinching block.

With another convincing performance, ZUS Coffee strengthened its early bid in the PVL On Tour while continuing to build momentum with its retooled lineup.
