Remulla Sends PNP Team To Cambodia To Verify Atong Ang Lead
Atong Ang File
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed that Philippine authorities are actively pursuing leads on fugitive businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, who is linked to the missing sabungeros case.
On Tuesday, January 27, Remulla said he has deployed Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel to Cambodia to verify reports that Ang may be hiding there. This is part of ongoing efforts to follow up on information suggesting the fugitive could have left the country.
Remulla has also discussed the possibility that Ang may have left the Philippines with large amounts of money, which could help him evade capture. However, authorities have not confirmed the exact amount, and the claim remains unverified.
Authorities are investigating whether Ang may have fled to Cambodia or Thailand, but there is no confirmed evidence yet that he has actually left the country. Immigration records and official reports have not verified his departure.
The PNP team in Cambodia will coordinate with local officials to gather more information. Meanwhile, Philippine authorities continue to pursue all leads and monitor possible escape routes and financial trails in hopes of locating Ang.
