SEOUL — Samsung Electronics is widening the reach of its Galaxy AI platform, introducing a more open, multi-agent ecosystem designed to give users greater flexibility in how they interact with artificial intelligence across their devices.
The tech giant said it is expanding Galaxy AI to support multiple integrated AI agents, reflecting how people now use different AI tools for different tasks. Based on the company’s internal research, nearly eight in 10 users rely on more than two types of AI agents as AI becomes more embedded in their daily routines.
Galaxy AI was built to operate at the system level rather than being confined to individual apps. By working directly within the device’s operating system, it can understand user context and reduce the need to switch between apps or repeat commands. The goal, Samsung said, is to make everyday interactions smoother and more intuitive.
As part of the expansion, Samsung will introduce Perplexity AI as an additional AI agent on upcoming flagship Galaxy devices. Users will be able to activate it with a dedicated wake phrase, “Hey Plex,” or access it through quick controls such as pressing and holding the side button.
Perplexity’s AI agent will be embedded across select Samsung apps, including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder and Calendar, as well as some third-party applications. This deeper integration is designed to support multi-step workflows, allowing users to move between tasks without manually managing separate apps.
“We’ve been committed to building an open and inclusive integrated AI ecosystem that gives users more choice, flexibility and control to get complex tasks done quickly and easily,” said Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator, bringing together different forms of AI into a single, natural, cohesive experience.”
Samsung said more details about supported devices and specific features will be announced soon. Availability of Galaxy AI capabilities may vary depending on region, device model, operating system version and carrier. Certain AI features may also require a Samsung Account login.
