Samsung Electronics closed 2025 with a bang, reporting its highest-ever quarterly and annual revenue thanks to booming AI demand and strong semiconductor sales.

For the fourth quarter ending December 31, Samsung posted KRW 93.8 trillion in revenue (~USD 65.8 billion), a 9% increase from the previous quarter. Operating profit reached KRW 20.1 trillion, also a record high. For the full year, the company reported KRW 333.6 trillion in revenue and KRW 43.6 trillion in operating profit — marking its strongest financial year yet.

“We will build on our comprehensive AI leadership and continued growth,” Samsung said in a statement.

Semiconductors Lead the Charge

Samsung’s Device Solutions (DS) Division, which includes memory chips and semiconductors, was the biggest profit driver. Memory sales surged 33% quarter-on-quarter, hitting record revenue and profit thanks to high-value products like HBM, DDR5, and enterprise SSDs. Strong global demand and rising memory prices fueled the growth.

The division plans to continue its AI-focused push in 2026, with HBM4 products — offering industry-leading 11.7Gbps performance — expected to hit the market soon. Samsung also aims to expand sales of AI-related DRAM and NAND products.

The System LSI Business faced a temporary slowdown in Q4 due to seasonal softness but is expected to recover with new product launches, especially in image sensors, including 200MP models.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s Foundry Business began mass production of 2nm chips and expects orders to grow in 2026, aiming for double-digit revenue growth with advanced semiconductor nodes.

Mobile, Displays, and Consumer Electronics

Samsung’s Mobile eXperience (MX) Division reported solid annual profits, fueled by flagship smartphones, tablets, and wearables, even though Q4 smartphone sales dipped after new launches. The division plans to reinforce AI smartphone leadership with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series and AI-driven innovations.

The Display (SDC) Division maintained market leadership with strong smartphone and large-display performance, including QD-OLED products. The Consumer Electronics (VD & DA) Division saw revenue growth in premium TVs but faced profitability pressure from seasonal factors, while Harman grew its automotive and premium audio sales.

Record Investments and a Look Ahead

Samsung also ramped up investments in the future, spending KRW 37.7 trillion on R&D in 2025. The company plans to expand AI offerings across devices, maintain supply stability, and continue profitable growth in all divisions in 2026.

“The ongoing AI boom is expected to continue driving favorable market conditions across the industry,” Samsung noted, highlighting its focus on high-performance products and innovation.

With AI-driven demand for memory, chips, and devices showing no signs of slowing, Samsung looks set to ride the wave in 2026, building on record-breaking results from 2025.
