Vice President Sara Duterte continues to enjoy the strongest public approval among top government officials, according to the latest Social Weather Survey conducted from March 24 to 31, 2026.
The nationwide survey showed that Duterte recorded 54% satisfaction and 25% dissatisfaction, resulting in a net satisfaction rating of +29, which SWS classifies as “moderate.” This places her ahead of other key officials included in the study.
By comparison, then Senate President Vicente Sotto III posted a net rating of +15, while House Speaker Faustino Dy III registered +4. Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo followed with a +9 net satisfaction score.
Despite slight movements across regions, Duterte’s overall rating remained stable compared to November 2025, reflecting continued strong support from the public.
Strongest support in Mindanao, steady elsewhere
Duterte’s highest approval remains in Mindanao, where she posted an “excellent” net rating of +82, followed by the Visayas at +36 (good). She also maintained neutral ratings in Metro Manila and Balance Luzon at +5 each.
The survey showed improvements in Mindanao and Metro Manila compared to previous results, while slight declines were recorded in the Visayas and Balance Luzon. Still, her overall standing remained largely unchanged.
Mixed trends across demographics
Support for the Vice President remained strong in rural areas, where her rating stayed at a “good” +36, while urban areas showed a moderate +23.
Gender breakdown also showed stability among men, who gave her a +29 rating, while women recorded a slightly lower but still moderate +28.
Age-wise, Duterte remained strongest among younger and middle-aged groups, although a decline was noted among respondents aged 18 to 24, even as ratings stayed generally positive across most age brackets.
Consistent approval amid national figures
Other top officials saw more modest ratings. Sotto remained in “moderate” territory, Dy stayed in neutral range, while Chief Justice Gesmundo maintained a steady +9 net satisfaction.
Still, Duterte stood out as the most positively rated among the four major public figures in the survey.
Public sentiment remains steady
Overall, the survey suggests that public perception of Vice President Duterte remains broadly stable, with strong support in key regions and consistent approval across major demographic groups.
While some areas showed slight fluctuations, the Vice President continues to maintain the highest satisfaction rating among the country’s top leaders in the latest SWS results.
