Savi Davison once again showed why she’s one of PLDT’s most dependable weapons, coming out blazing at the start of the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

The Filipino-Canadian star powered the High Speed Hitters to a jaw-dropping opening-day sweep of 10-time champion Creamline, sending an early message to the rest of the league with a 25-22, 25-17, 25-23 victory Thursday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Looking fitter and stronger in the season-ending conference, Davison delivered a performance for the books—a monster triple-double that anchored PLDT’s statement win. She poured in 26 points built on 23 kills and three kill blocks, while also posting 11 digs and 10 excellent receptions.

That all-around effort didn’t go unnoticed. Davison was named the first PVL Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for the January 31 to February 7 period.

Facing a Creamline squad that welcomed back a loaded cast—including Jia De Guzman and Bernadeth Pons from national team duties, Jema Galanza from a foot injury, and veterans Alyssa Valdez, Tots Carlos, and Michele Gumabao—Davison admitted the challenge was intimidating.

“I’ve been working a lot on patience and waiting all week, and not trying to come out strong because Creamline and their fans… they can make it a really hard environment to play in,” Davison said. “I’m just glad that we were able to keep calm and stick to our 80 percent throughout the match.”

She didn’t shy away from the moment either. “They were pretty intimidating when they came out. I’m not going to lie, all of them were complete. I knew it was going to be a hard match. I’m just happy that we were able to win tonight,” added the 2025 Invitationals Most Valuable Player.

Despite the big win, Davison made it clear she’s keeping her feet on the ground. “We try to do this every game coming forward. I don’t want to take it to our head—it’s one game at a time.”

Davison edged out Capital1 standout Bella Belen, who also erupted for a career-high 26 points, along with PVL stars Brooke Van Sickle, Myla Pablo, Erika Santos, Vanie Gandler, Sisi Rondina, and Erika Deloria for the weekly honor voted by print and online reporters covering the league.

With momentum on their side, Davison and the High Speed Hitters look to make it two straight wins when they face Capital1 on Thursday, once again at the San Juan venue.
