CAPAS, TARLAC — Reinforcing its commitment to social protection for elderly Filipinos, the Senior Citizens Party-list, represented by Rodolfo “Ompong” Ordanes, joined the National Commission for Senior Citizens (NCSC) in awarding ₱100,000 cash gifts to four Aeta centenarians during a ceremony at the Capas Events Center on February 11, 2026.

The cash gifts were given under the Expanded Centenarians Act (ECA), which mandates ₱100,000 for Filipino citizens who reach 100 years of age. Each centenarian also received letters of felicitation from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., recognizing their lifelong contributions to family and community.

Rep. Ordanes highlighted that honoring centenarians goes beyond celebrating longevity. “This is a commitment to provide meaningful, timely support that improves their quality of life,” he said, noting that the activity aligns with the party-list’s ongoing advocacy to ensure that government programs reach the most vulnerable, including indigenous and geographically isolated senior citizens.

The event underscores the continuing collaboration between the NCSC and the Senior Citizens Party-list in promoting care, dignity, and recognition for Filipino elders. Rep. Ordanes added that the party-list will continue to push for policies, funding, and programs that expand access to benefits, healthcare, and financial assistance for seniors nationwide.
