One of South Korea's most beloved celebrity couples has officially gone their separate ways.

Girls' Generation member and actress Sooyoung and actor Jung Kyung-ho have ended their relationship after being together for 14 years, bringing an end to one of the longest-running romances in the Korean entertainment industry.

Their respective agencies confirmed the breakup on Tuesday following reports from Korean media. Saram Entertainment, which manages Sooyoung, said, "It is true that they have broken up. They have decided to remain good colleagues."

Jung Kyung-ho's agency, Management Allum, also confirmed the split, saying, "It is true that they have broken up. As it is a private matter, it is difficult to provide further details."

The two stars first met through church gatherings and reportedly began dating in 2012. They publicly acknowledged their relationship in 2014 after months of speculation, becoming one of the few high-profile Korean celebrity couples to openly discuss their romance.

Over the years, fans admired the pair for their unwavering support of each other's careers. Sooyoung often spoke about how grateful she was to have someone who cared deeply for her, while Jung Kyung-ho openly expressed his affection for the singer-actress during interviews.

Their relationship survived busy schedules and the pressures of life in the spotlight, leading many fans to believe wedding bells were eventually in their future. Instead, Korean media reports said the couple naturally drifted apart as they focused on their respective careers. Some reports cited their demanding schedules as a factor in the breakup.

The news shocked fans across Asia, with many expressing sadness over the end of a relationship that had long been viewed as one of K-entertainment's strongest and most stable partnerships.

Sooyoung, 36, debuted with Girls' Generation in 2007 and later established herself as an actress through dramas such as "Run On," "Not Others," and "Second Shot at Love." Meanwhile, Jung Kyung-ho, 42, built a successful acting career with hit series including "Prison Playbook," "Hospital Playlist," and "Crash Course in Romance."

Despite ending their romantic relationship, both stars are expected to continue supporting each other professionally as they move forward with their separate careers.

For many fans, the breakup marks the end of an era, closing the chapter on one of K-drama and K-pop's most enduring love stories.
