House Speaker Faustino Dy III on March 16, 2026, highlighted the importance of the national budget as the most significant law passed by the House of Representatives. He stressed that the budget was carefully crafted to ensure it is passed efficiently, transparently, and fairly, in line with the President’s vision and to meet the needs of Filipinos.

Dy reaffirmed his commitment to open dialogue within the House, noting that his office remains accessible to all members. He said that the strength of the institution lies in its ability to resolve issues constructively, work together despite differences, and serve the public effectively.

“The resources entrusted to government must translate into real programs, infrastructure, and services that reach our communities,” Dy said, emphasizing shared responsibility among lawmakers.

In light of global challenges, he called on members, committees, and House staff to prioritize legislation that helps Filipinos cope with ongoing international crises, while keeping public welfare at the forefront.

Since assuming the speakership, Dy has consistently maintained that the welfare of the Filipino people remains the House’s top priority.
