Stocks Rally: PSEi Jumps Over 100 Points

The local stock market surged on Wednesday, with the PSEi closing strong at 6,044.17, up by 107.97 points or 1.82 percent.
The upbeat performance reflects renewed investor confidence, as gainers outpaced losers during the trading session. A total of 118 stocks advanced, compared to 81 decliners, while 54 issues remained unchanged.
Market activity reached PHP 7.3 billion in total value turnover, indicating steady participation from investors.
Foreign investors also returned to the buying side, with total foreign buying at Php 3.77 billion, slightly higher than foreign selling at Php 3.54 billion. This resulted in a net foreign buying position of Php 224.69 million, helping lift the market further.
Analysts note that the strong finish signals improving sentiment in the market, with investors taking positions amid positive momentum. The latest rally places the index back above the 6,000 level, a key psychological mark for traders.
While volatility may still persist, the day’s gains highlight growing optimism in the Philippine equities market.
