Thai Princess Bajrakitiyabha Dies At 47

Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the eldest daughter of Thailand's King Rama X, has died at the age of 47.
According to reports, the princess passed away on June 11, 2026, at 7:48 p.m. She was born on December 7, 1978, at Dusit Palace in Bangkok to King Rama X and his first wife, Princess Soamsawali.
Throughout her career, Princess Bajrakitiyabha played a prominent role in Thailand's diplomatic and international affairs.
She served at Thailand's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and later represented her country as ambassador to Austria from 2012 to 2014.
Beyond diplomacy, the princess was also active in promoting women's rights and the rule of law. She was appointed as a national ambassador for UN Women in 2008 and became a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the rule of law in Southeast Asia in 2017.
Known for her work in public service and international cooperation, Princess Bajrakitiyabha was regarded as one of the most visible members of Thailand's royal family. Her passing marks the loss of a royal figure who dedicated much of her life to diplomacy, legal advocacy, and humanitarian causes.
