Tots Carlos Finds Her Groove Again; Wins PVL Player Of The Week

After months of working her way back from injury, Tots Carlos is finally looking like her old, dominant self again — and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Creamline Cool Smashers.
The three-time PVL MVP delivered a pair of strong performances last week to help Creamline extend its winning streak and tighten its hold on the top spot in the Premier Volleyball League 2026 All-Filipino Conference. For her efforts, Carlos was named the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for March 3 to 7.
Carlos first made her presence felt with a near double-double performance — 19 points and 13 digs — in Creamline’s four-set win over the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-14, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
Just a few days later, she followed it up with another all-around effort, scoring 16 points and adding 13 digs as the Cool Smashers survived a tough five-set duel against the Nxled Chameleons, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-10.
For Carlos, the strong week meant more than just numbers — it signaled that she’s finally getting her rhythm back after spending months recovering from a knee injury.
“Mas gumaan na ‘yung feeling,” Carlos shared, grateful for the patience and support from the Creamline coaching staff. She said the team allowed her the time she needed to fully recover, trusting that she would eventually return to form.
And now, she’s proving exactly that.
Carlos also admitted she missed the intensity of tight matches like their five-set battle against Nxled.
“It was exciting also, kasi it’s been a while since I experienced that kind of game,” she said, adding how satisfying it felt to go through that kind of fight again with her teammates.
Still, the 27-year-old opposite hitter stressed that keeping composure remains key — something the Creamline coaching staff constantly reminds the team.
According to Carlos, playing with too much emotion can backfire. Instead, the Cool Smashers focus on staying calm and simply doing their job on the court.
Her impressive week allowed her to edge several standout performers for the weekly award, including teammate Jema Galanza, Savi Davison of the PLDT High Speed Hitters, Sisi Rondina of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Vanie Gandler of the Cignal HD Spikers, and Ivy Lacsina of the Akari Chargers.
Carlos and the Cool Smashers will try to keep the momentum going when they face the Akari Chargers on March 12 — a matchup where Creamline hopes its newly rediscovered firepower will continue to shine.
