U.S. President Donald Trump announced what he described as a completed agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran, a development he said would lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and help restore stability across the region.

In a statement, Trump said he had authorized the toll-free reopening of the strategic waterway and ordered the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade.

“Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” Trump declared as he celebrated the agreement.

According to Trump, the deal is expected to bring peace and security throughout the region, calling it a breakthrough that previous administrations had failed to achieve.

He claimed that many presidents had attempted to make peace with Iran in the past but were unsuccessful, while expressing confidence that regional leaders have now found a path toward what he described as “real peace.”

Trump also said that once the agreement is formally signed on Friday, efforts to remove mines from the area will begin, allowing oil shipments to resume through both sides of the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. president said the reopening of the key shipping route would benefit not only countries in the region but also the global economy by restoring the flow of oil through one of the world's most important maritime corridors.

Trump described the agreement as a major step toward regional peace and cooperation, expressing optimism about its impact on the region and the wider world.
