VP Sara Duterte Praises Army Unit After Successful Operation

Vice President Sara Duterte has commended the troops of the 79th Infantry Battalion for what she described as a successful combat operation, recognizing their role in maintaining peace and security.
In a statement, Duterte specifically cited the leadership of Lt. Col. Eric Alfonso, praising the unit’s courage, discipline, and commitment to protecting communities.
“Your bravery and dedication are worthy of the highest respect,” she said, adding that the operation reflects both operational excellence and a strong commitment to upholding the rule of law.
The Vice President also acknowledged the sacrifices of soldiers serving on the frontlines, saying their efforts continue to inspire unity and strengthen the country’s push for lasting peace and development.
At the same time, Duterte called on parents and guardians to take an active role in guiding their children, stressing the importance of keeping young people away from harmful influences and extremist groups.
She underscored that strong families and communities remain key to building a safer and more secure future for the nation.
“Maraming salamat sa inyong serbisyo sa bayan,” Duterte said, expressing gratitude to the troops for their service.
